Library materials - the library's collection of over 26,000 books includes fiction and nonfiction for adults, teens and children and children's collections of board books and easy readers. In addition the library has large print books, books on cassette and CD, videos and DVD's, magazines, newspapers, a reference collection and a microfilm collection of local newspapers.

The Friends of the Watseka Public Library was founded in 1999 with the purposes of to stimulate public interest in the library and its activities, to enrich the cultural opportunities of the community, and to supplement library services not provided for by public funds. Ongoing projects are delivery of library materials to shut-ins and nursing homes and helping with library book sales.
